TBT: Low Volume, High Volume, and Everything In-between
/Posted a few years ago. I've gone from a high volume to a low volume person as I've aged. why not weigh in in the comments below. the easiest way is as a guest. thanks and enjoy:
I recently had a revelation through a conversation with a friend. Here it is:
Some of us are low volume people. Others of us are high volume folk. And others are everything in-between.
I know, I know! You may say,
Jan, you are just getting that?
I have to respond,
Yes and no! I guess I've known this in my head, but maybe not in reality!
The thing is...I think this realization affects how I view myself and others.
We all tend to be so insecure and self-conscious, constantly rejecting who and what God made us to be. On the other side, we expect people to be more than they are and be able to do more than they can. Or we think that those who are doing a lot are just showing off!
I remember as a young mom struggling with self-rejection and, therefore, depression. Comparing and jealousy are often the "name of the game." Let's face it, humanly none of us is perfect. We gossip, over or under-achieve, compare, worry and fret, and the list goes on.
But the cool thing is Jesus loves each of us with the personalities and capacities He's given us. And through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, we are perfect and complete in Him!
For in Christ there is all of God in a human body; so you have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled with God through your union with Christ. He is the highest Ruler, with authority over every other power. Colossians 2:9-10 NLT
The living God in all His fullness indwells us! The resurrected Christ in all His glory will live through us as us (thank you, Dan Stone!) as we allow HIM by faith.
I have been crucified with Christ: and I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the real life I now have within this body is a result of my trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 NLT
Our consent (faith) is all that is needed. Then by our surrender to His indwelling Self, He lives through us, loves through us, and serves through us...all for His purpose and pleasure.
So which are you, dear friend? High volume or low volume, or something in-between? Be that with all your heart, knowing that your Father God is very fond of you! And His Son will do the doing through you as you let Him...AMEN!
