Speaking the Truth in Love ... Worth the Risk

It is risky to speak the truth. In personal relationships it is particularly risky. Most people don‘t want to hear it if it means that they may be disagreed with or opposed or worse yet, wrong. It’s easier to pretend everything is ok or to put up walls that keep people out and maybe even confuse the real issues. And the relationships that are the riskiest can be the ones you can’t run away from, like family, work, school, church, neighborhood, mentors, …
Growing up in Christ is often painful. But if Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, then we who love Him must be people who love truth. We must grow in speaking the truth in LOVE, not in living a pretense if both the speaker and the receiver are to grow in Him.
